Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson lines up moves for Everton and England left-back Leighton Baines and ­Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric after signing Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa for an initial £12m.
However, Italian club Napoli are also showing interesting in Baines who is valued at around £20m.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been told that Manchester United will have to pay a combined £72m to land his top targets - but he will not splash out that amount on the three players. They are Tottenham's Luka Modric, Everton's Leighton Baines and Newcastle's Cheick Tiote.


Manchester United are aiming to sign Valencia's Jordi Alba with a cash-plus-player deal involving their Brazilian midfielder Anderson.
The exit of Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt could be as part of a swap deal with Fiorentina for £12m-rated wing-back Juan Manuel Vargas.
New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed his intention to make Gylfi Sigurdsson his first Anfield signing after the midfielder's £6.8m move to Swansea stalled.

Brendan Rodgers is set to raid Swansea for three of his former players after he is unveiled as Liverpool's new manager - forward Scott Sinclair midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and defender Ashley Williams. Sigurdsson was set to join the Swans after a successful loan spell but has not completed his move yet.
Swansea midfielder Joe Allen is also being lined up for a move to Anfield - although the youngster, who came through the ranks at the Welsh club, has three years left on his contract and would cost Liverpool £10m.
The arrival of Rodgers has thrown Joe Cole an Anfield lifeline. The Liverpool midfielder, who spent the 2011-12 season on loan at Lille, knows Rodgers from his spell as Chelsea's reserve team manager.
Chelsea have agreed a fee of £38m for Porto striker Hulk and the deal is ready to be closed subject to a medical.
