Real Madrid are confident they will land Gareth Bale for a world-record £81m. But the Spanish giants believe Tottenham will make them wait till just before the transfer window shuts on 2 September.
Tottenham are plotting moves for Roma's forward Erik Lamela, Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen and Anzhi Makhachkala's winger Willian.
Manchester United are prepared to offer up to £40m for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas as manager David Moyes refuses to concede defeat in his efforts to sign the Spain international.

Real Madrid's interest in Tottenham winger Gareth Bale appears to be cooling after head coach Carlo Ancelotti told club president Florentino Perez that he did not consider the player integral to his plans this season.

Manchester United are ready to enter the race to sign Tottenham star Gareth Bale who is still wanted by Real Madrid.
Barcelona will make a final offer for Chelsea defender David Luiz this week, amid reports he wants reassurances about his future from Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea are confident of signing striker Wayne Rooney from Manchester United but are weighing up a move for Anzhi Makhachkala forward Samuel Eto'o as a back up.
Arsenal are closing in on the capture of Brazil midfielder Luiz Gustavo from Bayern Munich in a £14m deal.

Arsenal are set to make Luis Suarez their highest paid player if they can push through the move from Liverpool. According to reports in Uruguay, Arsene Wenger has drawn up a four-year contract worth £160,000 a week for the striker to sign.
Tottenham could also be set to move for Luis Suarez once the Gareth Bale saga is finally concluded.
Tottenham could also make a £15m double bid for Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen and defender Toby Alderweireld. Both are also targets for Liverpool.
