Marouane Fellaini delivered a transfer request in person to Everton after driving to the club's training ground on Monday evening to speak personally to manager Roberto Martinez and plead with him to sanction his switch to Manchester United.
Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye had his hopes of a transfer deadline move to Arsenal dashed when Magpies boss Alan Pardew and the United board told him that he would not be allowed to leave.
Tottenham defender Danny Rose has said no-one at White Hart Lane should begrudge former team-mate Gareth Bale his world record move to Real Madrid.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere believes the Gunners have made the signing of the summer after completing a club-record £42.4m for Real Madrid's midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Real Madrid are preparing to follow up their £85.3m world record signing of Gareth Bale by making a £45m swoop for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that defender Fabio Coentrao will be staying at the Bernabeu this summer amid speculation of a possible move to Manchester United.
Tottenham want to bring Coentrao in on loan.
Real Madrid forward Kaka will sign for former club AC Milan on loan, while Arsenal and Manchester United will compete for the signature of playmaker Mesut Ozil as the Spanish giants try to recoup some of the money they spent on Bale.
Arsenal will complete the signing of Ozil either as a permanent or loan deal, and are also chasing his Real Madrid team-mate winger Angel Di Maria, as well as Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler and Chelsea's out-of-favour striker Demba Ba.

Tottenham forward Gareth Bale's transfer to Real Madrid has still not been confirmed and the Spanish club have had to dismantle the stage they erected at the Bernabeu to present the Wales international to their fans as they have a game on Sunday.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants Real Madrid to pay an extra £10m if Bale is sold to a Premier League club within four years of his switch to the La Liga outfit.

United will trigger the release clause in Herrera's contract with a £30.7m bid, while also offering Roma £10.2m for midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
