West Ham's on-loan striker Demba Ba says he turned down a more lucrative offer from Russia to come to England and that his former side Hoffenheim have ruined his reputation by suggesting he is driven by money. "The truth is that I could have earned much more money elsewhere," he said. (Sport Bild)

West Brom defender Jonas Olsson has apologised for breaking a glass case containing a picture of an old Stoke team in the tunnel at the Britannia Stadium after the sides' meeting on Monday. Stoke chairman Peter Coates says the club have no regrets about opting not to sign West Ham attacker Demba Ba. The Potters agreed a fee with Hoffenheim before Ba agreed his switch to east London, but opted not to complete the deal.
