Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is preparing to see out the final year of his contract with the Catalan club rather than join Manchester City in a £25m transfer.

AC Milan have warned Chelsea they would turn down a bid of 60m euros (£51m) for Brazil striker Alexandre Pato. The Italian club's administrator Adriano Galliani said: "We previously received a superior offer to this one and we already said no to that, so the answer would be no." (Press Association)

Ronaldo agrees six-year deal

Cristiano Ronaldo will complete his world record £80m move from Manchester United to Real Madrid on 1 July after agreeing a six-year deal.

United, who accepted Real's offer for the 24-year-old winger on 11 June, confirmed the finalisation of the transfer on their club website.

The agent of Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero tells the calciomercato.it. website that he has had no contact with Manchester United over a possible bid for the £44m-rated Argentine international.

Denmark international Peter Lovenkrands hints he could cross the divide between Newcastle and Sunderland. He told Danish newspaper BT: "Sunderland is certainly an interesting club. The city is near Newcastle, where we have settled fine, and it would be attractive to stay in northern England."

Hull manager Phil Brown wants Michael Owen to join his side despite his injury record. Owen's Newcastle deal expires on Tuesday when he will become a free agent.

There has been a lot of talk about Valencia striker David Villa but his club insist, despite the speculation linking him with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United, that they have received no bids for him.

The chances of Franck Ribery joining Manchester United or Chelsea appear to be slim after the Bayern Munich playmaker's agent said the Frenchman wants to play for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are interested in signing Lyon striker Karim Benzema, according to Marca sports daily. Benzema, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United, could be a fresh target for Real rather than Valencia's David Villa.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has dismissed speculation linking him to a move to Manchester United. The 28-year-old told AS: "There is nothing at all from Manchester (United) or any other club."

Setanta loses Premier TV rights

Setanta TV lost a massive chunk of their TV viewing today as they lost all their 2009/2010 Premier league rights. Setanta has failed to pay the latest chunk of the £30m it owes the English Premier League - losing the rights. The league will now put the rights to the 46 live matches for the 2009/2010 season out to auction, after Setanta missed Friday's payment deadline. Offers to buy the rights need to be made by Monday.
The Board of Setanta said it would "consider its options over the weekend","In the meantime, Setanta's sports channels continue on air," it added.
The Premier League said it had been working with Setanta "for some time to help them continue as the broadcaster" .
Sky would be legally free to bid for one of Setanta's two packages of 23 games, the other 23 will go else where . Under the EU regulatory that no one operator can hold all the rights to air all the Premier League games
