Results for 29th and 30th

What a week end we saw a record breaking score line for premier league football.

Portsmouth 7 - Reading 4
What can I say, A record breaking scoreline for the Premier league and a very very sorry and sloppy defence from Reading. It was Mwaruwari that open up for pompey after only 7 mins, 30 mmins later Mwaruwari then scored again, Hunt scored a Reading goal on 45 mins to take it 2 - 1 at half time, Kitson then brought Reading level on 48 mins after taking advantage of a mistake from David James , and then it all went wron for Reading, there was nothing being played in midfield it was an end to end game and Reading didn't even look good enough to be a championship team let alone a Premier league club, all one way traffic for the next 3 goal all going in favour of Portsmouth Hreidarsson 55 mins, Mwaruwari 70 mins (hat trick) , Kranjcar 75 mins, Long managed a 79 min goal when it deflected off him from a good effort from James Harper but alas only a consolation as they where falling to pieces, Davies then got another for Portsmouth on 79th min muntari then seal it with a penalty on 90 mins Shorey scored a fourth for reading on 90 mins , Harry must be over the moon with a stunning performance like that, my message to Reading is if you want to play in the premier league next year buck up and buy in January or its championship football again and they will get stuck there.
Attendance:20,102

Birmingham 0 - Man Utd 1

The blues really did a very good job of hold back Utd all the way through the 1st half it was Ronaldo that managed to get a goal after 51 mins his 100th premier league goal , Van Der Sar had to be taken off at half time through injury but made some stunning saves in his 1st half appearance Tomasz Kuszczak came on for in for the rest of the game .
Attendance :26,526

Chelsea 0 - Fulham 0

Avram Grants second premier league game and still no win 4 league games without a win, both sides cancelled each other out. Seol Ki-Hyeon had a good game and proved to be a good switch from Reading. Drogba looked very good after injury his best attempt came after about and hour as he unleashed a powerful drive which Keller managed to push away . Terry was caught up in an aerial collision with Dempsey and fractured his cheek bone . Drogba picked up a yellow for insisting Baird had Impeded him then later picked up a second and off as he raised his foot whilst challenging Baird.

Kenny Miller opened up for Derby after 19 mins from 10 yds after a good cross from Steve Howard. Derby made Bolton work as Anelka managed a goal on 32 mins. Derby earned a good point and deserved it.
Attendance: 31,503

Man City 3 - Newcastle 1

Svens men did there stuff once again. And I should co co for all the money they invested over the summer. Martins put the Toon ahead after 29 mins with cleaver little lob but Petrov 38 mins put away a peach at the far post to bring it all square, Mpenza then scored on 47 mins as Petrov delivered a brilliant cross,Elano then put away a 25 yd free kick to go past Given.
Attendance:40,606

Sunderland 1 - Blackburn 2

A very boring and dull first half so I may as well talk about the second half. Rover opened up on 53rd min as Santa cruz into the Sunderland penalty area his shot blocked but Bently got on the end of the volley to score. Santa Cruz then finished a lovely shot on 55 mins, Bently could have killed the game off when he got through sunderlands defence to unleash a low shot only palmed to safety by Gordon, Leadbitter hit and unexpected 25 yd side footed shot to score on 90th minute .
Attendance: 41,252

West Ham 0 - Arsenal 1

Arsenal stay at the top as they took all 3 points, Van Persie scored the only goal from Hlebs assist after 13 mins, West Ham Lost a player in the second half as Scott Parker was suffering knee injury from a challenge with Flamini, Ljungberg had a goal denied as he thought he'd brought it even , with 10 mins to go Arsenal lost Adebayor with a ham string injury.
Attendance:34,966

Wigan 0 - Liverpool 1

A bit of a dull 1st half but liver poll brought the entertainment with a sub Benayoun on 75min after he gat the pass from Pennant and managed to shot from 10 yds out . Torres wasted a lot of good chances. Aghahowa should have brought it all level as he missed a close range header.

Avram's 1st game and he lost, oh dear. Brilliant, a great performance from Utd with Rooney and Ronaldo back strong as ever but it was Tevez that got the 1st goal with a good header. A lot of fouling going on on the park as Saha was taken down although he did put the dramatics on but still won a penalty that gave Utd the 2 goal win they deserved, what can I say? Chelsea do look awful without Jose.

Games and Results for Saturday 22nd

Arsenal 5 - Derby 0

Well how do I start to explain this one except wow. Arsenal once again did the magic with Diaby opening up only 10 mins into the game right foot shot going in high right. Adebayor then gave the second by going around the keeper. Into the second half we saw a penalty given away by the Derby Captain on 50 mins, Adabayor took the penalty shot and put away his second goal beating Bywater who only managed to get finger tips on the ball but it wasn't enough to keep it from hitting the back of the net. Fabregas then put away a cracker on 70 mins giving arsenal 4. The action didn't stop as Adabayor then put away his hat trick on 79th min. I cant really say a lot about Derby, They just couldn't get it together and defended very bad , gave away possession to many times a totally different side from last Monday against Newcastle where they took their first win.
Attendance: 60,122

Middlesbrough 2 - Sunderland 2

Boro hosted the Blackcats for this north east Derby. Chopra passed a good ball in for Leadbitter to score on 2 mins. Arca answered back for Boro with a header on 15 mins. There was a call for hand ball as Higginbotham cleared used his arm for help clear the ball from the area , even though the Ref was only 10 yds away he didn't give it as a penalty but replays showed a clear hand ball and a deliberate one at that. Leadbitter and Cattermole went at it throwing their teddy's in the corner and stating a ding dong , and earning a yellow card each (thicko's). Stuart Downing then Boro a lead with a powerful low shot on 67th min. But Miller got Sunderland back on an even Keel with an equaliser on 89 min.
Attendance: 30,675

Reading 2 - Wigan 1

Royals entertained Wigan today. well I say entertain but they where desperate for the win after a string of losses. Rosenior put kirkland into action straight away with a very early attempt. Doyle then went in with a strike but denied and fumbled by Kirkland and falling for Kitson to finnish giving Reading the lead after 29 mins. Ingimarsson almost gave away a penalty with a challenge so close to the box only just out of the penalty box, a free kick given to Wigan which was a very good attempt from Koumas hitting the cross bar. Second half saw Marcus Bent put away the eqauliser on 50 mins with a header, and Wigan where laying on the pressure, Duberry did a sterling jod once again in defence with a very well timed tackle that could have so easily put Wigan ahead. James Harper left it late 90th min to get the winner shortly follwed by another from Doyle.
Attendance: 21,379

Fulham 3 - man City 3

What a game exciting stuff loads of goal and end to end stuff . Simon davies brought the first goal in for Fulham with a header on 13 mins. Petrov then eqaulised with a goal for Man City on 36 mins. Second half saw Bouazza take a brilliantly struck free kick 25 yds out giving Fulham their second on 48 mins , 2 mins later Mpenza then got back for City with another.Petrov then struck a low shot to put City ahead on 60 mins , but this didnt last long as Danny Murphy took advantage of a good flick on from Seol Ki-Hyeon to eqaulise then almost scoring again before full time.
Attendance: 24,674

Liverpool 0 - Birmingham 0

Pennant gave the first real good bit of action with a training ground move with a 20 yd drive just over the bar. Torres kept people entertained with his over head kick attempt that didnt work but never mind it looked very good. Liverpool just couldnt wear down the Blues defence they wher very strong and walked away with a deserved point from a top 4 club.

Good bye Jose

Today saw one of the biggest shocks in manager's leaving in the season, Jose Mourinho. Jose had been with Chelsea for 3 years and had won 5 bits of silver ware, 2 Premiership cups , 2 league cups and the FA cup. You would think that was good going, well it is. But the bitter feud that rubbled in the background between Jose and the club and the owner Ambramovich. Roman has a lot to answer for to all the Chelsea fans and infact all the football fans. Romans attitude is awful and has no care for the game and his arrogance just rules the way. It would be great to see another Premier League team sign Jose just to give Roman the fingers. Loads of Chealsea supporters called for a boycott on home and away games in reaction to the news today. Jose spent the morning saying goodbye to the team and some very emotional, Drogba and many other's upset by the news. this now sparks speculation that some top names will go in January like Lampard, Schevchenko, Drogba, who knows . Although Im not a Chelsea supporter I do have a certain amount of respect for any football team and their fans as its part and parcel of the camaraderie that makes you a fan, so good luck Jose I think we will all miss you and hope you come back soon.

Chelsea 0 - Blackburn 0

Both side went at it well for the the 1st 45mins then in the second half the game got a little deflated by some dodgy calls by lines man and ref not allowing a cracking strike Kalou on the 57th min. Lines man called it as off side replays show different. Chelsea pushed Blackburn through the second half as a huge attack was mounted with shevchenko almost putting Chelsea ahead in the last 5 mnins but Friedel denied him at point blank range.
Attendance:41,062

Everton 0 - Man Utd 1

Early game on Saturday, 1st half saw plenty the 2 sides almost cancelling one another out. Ferdinand and Scholes both lost their teddy's Im amazed the scholes didn't get sent off for his ridiculous behaviour of throwing the ball away and Rio for back chatting to the Ref but both did end up being booked its always a let down to watch great footballers behaving like kids. Both sides only managed 1 attempt on target each
with Man Utd's attempt going in on the 83rd min from Vidic.
Attendance: 39,364

A minute of applause was observed before the game in memory of Ian Porterfield their 1973 FA cup winning scorer.
The royals traveled up the M1 to challenge Sunderland. Sunderland went all out and didn't want to see another loss. Kenwyne Jones opened up after 29 mins as Reading Defense fell to pieces. As both teams came back out for the second half when Wallace put away a side footed goal to make it 2. The Royals just cannot get it together , Lita was to busy doing silly tricks instead of trying to hit the target, the whole game play from Reading was a shower with only a last minute consolation goal from Dave Kitson on 85 mins , next week the bus driver for Reading has been told to take his boots along with him.
Attendance: 39,272

Martin Jol keen to do well today and his side was as they opened up as Gareth Bale scored after 15mins putting spurs ahead. They kept the lead all the way to half time with good game play.
