Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has emerged as a shock transfer target for Arsenal, as a potential makeweight in a deal taking Theo Walcott the other way.
Porto have turned down a £39.5m bid from Zenit St Petersburg for Hulk. The striker and winger is also a target for Chelsea.
West Ham will launch a final attempt to sign Liverpool striker Andy Carroll before the window closes. This would allow the Reds to move for Walcott.
Carroll is set to be left out of Liverpool's Europa League match with Hearts, further fuelling speculation he will leave the club.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants Carroll to admit his Anfield career is over as he looks to bring in cash to buy Clint Dempsey and Walcott.
Liverpool want to sign Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente if they can sell Carroll before Friday's transfer deadline.

Wayne Rooney fears Manchester United are preparing to offload him for £40m.
England winger Theo Walcott has rejected a new Arsenal contract and could be sold for £15m with Manchester City and Liverpool favourites to sign the player.
Former Chelsea strikers Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka could be sold by Shanghai Shenhua because of an escalating row among the Chinese club's shareholders.

Swansea winger Scott Sinclair looks set to complete his move to Manchester City on Tuesday for a transfer fee believed to be £6.2m.
Manchester United and Everton are both interested in signing Leicester's defender Liam Moore, who has made just five appearances for the club.
Tottenham are planning to spend £50m on players before the transfer window shuts on Friday. Their six main targets include midfielders Joao Moutinho and Willian.
Everton are also hoping to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle although they face competition from Aston Villa.
Wigan are planning a bid for Bolton winger Lee Chung-yong, who is valued at around £7m.
