Toure signs for Man City


Manchester City have signed central defender Kolo Toure from Arsenal for a reported £16m on a four-year contract.

Toure, who had seven years at Arsenal, passed a medical on Wednesday and is City's sixth signing of the summer.

Boss Mark Hughes said: "It is no secret that we have been looking to strengthen our defence and in Kolo I feel we have recruited a world class player."

Toure told City's website: "I am still at an age, 28, where I feel I am at my peak and will play my best football."

Signed , sealed , delivered , Crouch signs for Spurs


Tottenham have agreed a deal with Portsmouth to sign striker Peter Crouch for an undisclosed fee.

The fee for Crouch is believed to be in the region of £10m and the contract reported to be for five years and worth £70,000 a week.

The 28-year-old England international has agreed personal terms and passed a medical at White Hart Lane.

A statement on the Portsmouth website has indicated that Crouch's sale was dictated by financial issues affecting the south-coast side.

Crouch, who opted against joining Sunderland, returns to the club where he began his career as a trainee.

Crouch scored 16 goals in all competitions for Portsmouth last season and, in a club statement, Pompey acknowledged the need to cash in on their star striker.

Bolton sign Knight and Ricketts


Bolton Wanderers have signed defenders Zat Knight from Aston Villa and Sam Ricketts from Hull City.

The pair have agreed three-year deals at the Reebok Stadium after arriving for undisclosed fees.

They are Bolton boss Gary Megson's third and fourth signings this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad.

Megson has already picked up midfielder Sean Davis from Portsmouth while defender Paul Robinson signed from West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan.

After impressive displays for Fulham, centre-back Knight, 29, was capped by England against Colombia and the United States of America in 2005.

Scotland completes Wigan transfer


Wigan have completed the signing of Jason Scotland from Swansea for £2m.

The transfer had been agreed last week but the striker has now received the necessary international clearance.

The 30-year-old, who has been given a two-year deal, told Wigan's website: "It's great to get to play in the Premier League. It's a big step up.

Adebayor completes Man City move


Manchester City have added to their collection of strikers by signing Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor on a five-year deal for a fee of about £25m.

The 25-year-old joins fellow new signings Roque Santa Cruz and Carlos Tevez at Eastlands.

With Robinho, Craig Bellamy, Valeri Bojinov and Benjani also on their books, City have an embarrassment of riches up front.

"I can't wait to play for City's fans and show them what I can do," he said.

"I was born to play football and that is what I want to do. I have come here to make history for this club and those supporters.
