Reading have agreed a fee weighed in by Hull for Stephen Hunt.
Reading have confirmed the 29-year-old is set to hold contract talks and undergo a medical in the North East.
He is on international duty this week but could complete a move to the Tigers before their Premier League opener against Chelsea on Saturday.
Hunt joined Reading from Brentford in 2005 and has since made 173 appearances for the Royals, scoring 20 goals.
