Arsenal are keen to make the first move for Fulham striker Clint Dempsey who is also wanted by Liverpool.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is closing in on £17m-rated Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.
Manchester City are targeting Montpellier midfielder Younes Belhanda as a back-up target, with their pursuit of Lille's Eden Hazard proving more difficult than the club had first anticipated.
Tottenham target Loic Remy, the Marseille striker, says he wants to remain with the French club but admits that their financial situation may lead to him being sold.
Real Madrid scouts have been watching Newcastle striker Papiss Demba Cisse with a view to making a move for the Senegal international this summer.
Spurs could also be set to add to their defensive ranks with a move for Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.

However Manchester United could scupper Tottenham's plans with their own move for the defender.

Porto's £25m-rated midfielder Joao Moutinho, who has been monitored by Chelsea, has admitted he would consider a move to the Premier League.
If they secure their Premier League status next weekend, QPR are planning a £7m move for Wigan's winger Victor Moses.
Chelsea target Caballero, a striker with Paraguay side Libertad, is also wanted by Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Highly rated Peruvian striker Andy Polo, thought to have been considered by Arsenal, has opted to join Italian side Genoa in a deal worth around £4m.
Newcastle are considering a move for Marseilles and former France under-19 defender Christophe Lowinsky.
