Liverpool are closing on a deal for Barcelona defender Martin Montoya. The Spaniard's contract expires in the summer but managing director Ian Ayre flew to Spain on Thursday in an attempt to push a deal through in January.
Chelsea are considering a loan move for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao with Jose Mourinho wanting the option to buy permanently in the summer.
Tottenham want to sign Basel winger Mohamed Salah. The Egypt international was watched by Tottenham sporting director Franco Baldini in the Swiss side's 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Champions League in midweek.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez is certain that Leighton Baines has not played his final game for the club. The left-back, who is out until the new year after suffering a foot injury, is wanted by Manchester United, who could bid for him in January.
Newcastle are set to move for Netherlands goalkeeper Warner Hahn. The FC Dordrecht player has also been watched by Roma, Lazio and Genoa.
