Manchester United manager David Moyes is planning to spend £45m to sign full-backs Seamus Coleman and Luke Shaw from Everton and Southampton respectively.
Juventus midfielders Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal as well as left-back Shaw and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa will be Manchester United's summer transfer targets but will be hard to sign if they do not qualify for the Champions League.
Arsenal will attempt to sign midfielder Gareth Barry, who has impressed while on loan at Everton from Manchester City this season, during the summer.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has put Nottingham Forest's central defender Jamaal Lascelles on his summer shopping list.
Rodgers also wants to add experience to his defence by bringing in Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole on a free transfer.
Newcastle are on the trail of Metz forward Diafra Sakho, with the player valued at about £800,000.
